The next generation of metabolic testing

Mera is developing optical sensing technology for metabolic testing, with faster response, no routine calibration and no annual sensor replacement.

Designed for faster sensing and less maintenance

Optical O₂ and CO₂ sensing gives us faster gas measurement with less calibration, fewer replaceable parts and a simpler flow path.

Up to 10 Hz optical CO₂ acquisition

Flow-through CO₂ measurement at up to 10 Hz captures the shape of each breath in much more detail than slow periodic sampling.

Measure directly in the flow

CO₂ is measured directly in the flow, without a separate sampling pump. This simplifies the hardware and may also be useful in respiratory applications such as capnometry.

No routine sensor calibration

Less calibration and fewer service steps make the system easier to operate outside specialist labs, including performance centers, clubs and gyms.

Lower-maintenance optical gas sensing

Optical sensing avoids annual electrochemical O₂-cell replacement and reduces routine service requirements for the gas-analysis system.
