The Worldwide Metabolic Testing Atlas
Find performance laboratories, university labs, VO2max and metabolic testing facilities worldwide. Search by location, testing method, sport and equipment.
Put your lab on the Mera Atlas
Add a new testing location or correct an existing profile. We review every submission before it appears in the Atlas.
Show your location, testing services and the sports you work with.
List CPET, VO₂max, lactate, SmO₂ and the equipment you use.
Correct an address, contact, device or service whenever something changes.
Mera helps labs turn physiological testing into digital reports, longitudinal athlete profiles and clearer coach-ready analysis.

Where can I find VO₂max and metabolic testing facilities by country?
The Mera Atlas brings together performance, clinical and academic testing facilities identified and reviewed from public sources across 100+ countries. Browse the country directory to see where VO₂max, CPET, lactate and other physiological testing are available.
Browse testing facilities by country →Which metabolic and performance testing methods are included?
Use these methods to compare the services offered by performance laboratories, university labs and clinical testing facilities in the Atlas.
- VO₂max / CPET
- Measures maximal oxygen uptake and the cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic response during exercise.
- Lactate
- Uses blood lactate samples during an exercise protocol to identify intensity transitions and training zones.
- SmO₂
- Uses near-infrared spectroscopy to monitor local muscle oxygen saturation during exercise.
- RMR
- Measures resting oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production to estimate resting energy expenditure.
- Sweat
- Measures sweat rate and, where available, sodium or electrolyte concentration during exercise.
- DEXA
- Uses low-dose X-ray assessment to measure body composition and bone mineral density.
- Hypoxia / Altitude
- Assesses or trains physiological responses under reduced-oxygen or simulated-altitude conditions.
- Blood gases
- Measures oxygen, carbon dioxide, pH and related values in arterial or capillary blood.
- BOD POD
- Uses air-displacement plethysmography to estimate body composition.
- FatMax
- Identifies the exercise intensity associated with the highest measured fat oxidation.
- ECG
- Records the electrical activity of the heart at rest or during exercise.
- Wingate
- A short maximal cycling test used to assess anaerobic power and fatigue.
- Isokinetic
- Measures muscle strength and balance at a controlled movement speed.
- Heat chamber
- Tests or trains athletes in controlled hot and humid environmental conditions.
How are facilities selected for the Atlas?
We include a facility when a public source confirms VO₂max, CPET, lactate, gas analysis or another relevant physiological testing service. DEXA-only and imaging-only facilities are not included in the metabolic testing directory.
How can I add or update a testing facility?
If a laboratory is missing or its information has changed, send us the details and a direct service or laboratory link through the Atlas submission form.
Add or update a facility →How can my lab become a Mera partner?
We are open to collaborations ranging from a free pilot to commercial cooperation. Mera partners are highlighted on the map and shown first in location results. Let's build the future of human performance together.
Talk to Mera about partnership →Can I search by country, city, sport or equipment?
Yes. Search by location, then refine the map with testing methods, sports, equipment and organization type. Partner facilities are surfaced first in the location list.
Does the Atlas include DEXA-only facilities?
No. We list DEXA or body-composition services when metabolic or physiological testing is also confirmed by a public source; imaging-only facilities are kept out of the Atlas.
